KaDaoYin to Perform Experimental Cross-Cultural Music in Los Angeles and San Francisco International Arts Festival
Los Angeles, CA, May 14, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles is proud to present KaDaoYin, who will be performing improvised music on a unique cross-cultural instrumentation on May 30th, 2017 starting 7 pm at their Westwood location. This is the first stop of their 2017 West Coast tour; after this performance, they have been invited to the San Francisco International Arts Festival, and will perform there on June 1st and 2nd.
KaDaoYin’s members are based in Taipei and London. With its signature combination of piano, C-saxophone, sheng (Chinese mouth organ), and zheng (Chinese zither), the music of KaDaoYin stands at the crossroads of contemporary classical music, Chinese folk music, free improvisation, and jazz.

KaDaoYin‘s first two albums have both won prestigious awards in Taiwan: “Four Characters” received the 3rd Taiwan Golden Indie Music Award for Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Track in 2012; “Slow” received the 25th Taiwan Golden Melody Award for Traditional Arts (equivalent to the Grammy) for Best Crossover Album in 2014.
