The honourable minister of industry, trade and investment, Dr. Okechukwu enelamah shares blueprint of his agenda for economic reform at the nation building workshop and industry experts such as Ibukun Awosika, Bismark Rewane, Seni Sulyman, Omobola Johnson discuss ways to revamp the Nigerian Economy.

Apostles in the Market Place (AiMP Network), an organization committed to raising change agents who transform society held a Nation Building Workshop (NBW). The event held on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island was a platform for thought leaders in various spheres of society to express their views and ideas on how to move the country forward.
The Nation Building Workshop themed “Positioning for Economic Recovery” began with the graduation of the Working for God in the marketplace (WFGiMP) 2016 Class. WFGiMP is a training and mentoring program. The graduates were mostly young people in the early hours of their careers that have been trained to be servant leaders and agents of transformation in their organizations.
At the Nation Building Workshop, the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu E. Enelamah who is a co-founder of the AiMP Network presented the Keynote Speech which focused on Economic Recovery and Growth Plan as announced by the President and the blueprint of his ministry including his agenda for creating an enabling environment for rapid industrialization of the country. He stated that the Federal Government will focus on five categories of initiatives to kick start the Economic recovery. These categories include stabilizing the macroeconomic environment, achieving agriculture and food security, ensuring energy sufficiency in power and petroleum products, improving transportation infrastructure and driving industrialization focusing on SMEs. He also emphasized that the economic team is proactively promoting local and foreign direct investment as well as creating an enabling environment for those investments to thrive.
The workshop featured two separate panels made up of industry experts who discussed the economic recovery plan and investment opportunities in Nigeria. The first panel, which focused on Repositioning for Economic Recovery, was made up of Bismark Rewane – CEO, Financial Derivatives, Ayo Teriba - CEO, Economic Associates, Opeyemi Agbaje - Managing Partner, RTC Advisory Service, Omobola Johnson- Former Information and Communication Minister and Funmi Ogunlesi- Executive Director, CitiBank.
The second panel focused on creating Pathway to Economic Sustainability and was made up of distinguished personalities such as Ibukun Awosika - Chairman, Board of Directors, First Bank Nigeria, Mezuo Nwuneli-Managing Partner, Sahel Capital, Chike Maduegbuna -CEO, Afrinolly, Emeka Okoye-CEO, GTI Group, and Seni Sulyman Country Manager, Andela Ltd.
At the event, Chike Maduegbuna, CEO, Afrinolly challenged Nigerian youth to use their skills and talents in technology to develop the agricultural sector. Also, Ibukun Awosika decried the general poor level of our educational institutions and the dearth of skilled manpower in the medical sector. She suggested that the Federal Government should design a one year curricula for science graduates to be trained as nurses in the health sector.
The event ended with a partner's dinner in the evening where notable dignitaries such as Joe Mbulu -Transformation Director, Union Bank, Richard Kramer- Chairman, African Capital Alliance and Dr. Christopher Kolade (CON), were in attendance.
