Shelley M. Klein, Ed.D. Recognized as a Professional of the Year by Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Publication
Santa Maria, CA, May 17, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Shelley M. Klein, Ed.D., of Santa Maria, California has been recognized as a Professional of the Year for 2017 by Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of education.
About Shelley M. Klein, Ed.D.
Dr. Klein has almost 30 years experience in the education field. She is a Math teacher at Santa Maria High School in Santa Maria, California. She is responsible for implementing and teaching the Common Core Math Curriculum and for integrating the English Language and English Language Learner curricula in her math classes. Dr. Klein also helps develop then ensure the implementation of other new math curricula for the department and mentors new teachers. She has completed a Math and Science Equity study through UCSB (University of California, Santa Barbara) as well as several action research projects involving homework and organizational skills. She has shared her research, leadership plans and curricula ideas with her school. Dr. Klein has held several school leadership positions including serving on the School Site Council and Shared Decision Making committees. She has served as her school’s Accreditation (W.A.S.C) self-study leader, as a class advisor for 2007 and 2010 and as a math tutor. In addition, she has collected, analyzed and reported on school data for her site.
Born in Santa Maria, California, Dr. Klein obtained an Ed.D. from Pepperdine University in 2014. Her dissertation focuses on the intersections of teacher leadership with using collaborative learning teams in new math curriculum implementation. She previously earned her Master’s Degree and Administration Credential through Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Dr. Klein is affiliated with the California Teachers Association, the Girl Scouts of America, A.A.U.W. (American Association of University Women) and the N.C.T.M (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics). In her spare time she enjoys traveling, camping and teaching Sunday school.
