About Linda A. Childers
Ms. Childers has 10 years experience crocheting gifts to help others. She is the Owner of Designs by Linda in Hubert, North Carolina. She crochets scarves, flip flops, afghans and bags for cell phones which she donates to veterans who are in hospitals or homebound. Ms. Childers volunteers to assist disabled American veterans and also with Durham Hospital VAMC.
Ms. Childers received the Commander of the year from the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary for the Department of North Carolina, 2010-2011. She has served as Commander for the Unit 16 of Jacksonville, North Carolina from 2009 thru 2017. She now serves as the Adjutant for this organization.
Her philosophy in life is to treat people the way you would like to be treated.
Born October 28, 1944 in Tennessee, Ms. Childers attended college in Texas at the College of the Mainland and graduated with a 3.9 grade point. She has been a deputy sheriff, worked as a branch manager for a plastic company, and worked in a machine shop running 2 CNC machines where she retired in 2006. She is married to Master Gunny James Childers. In her spare time she enjoys Church activities, family activities, walking and crochet classes.
