Comedy Musical "Comic-Con the Musical" Brings the Con-Goer Experience to the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2017
Participant in the 2016 ASCAP/Dreamworks Musical Theater Workshop with Stephen Schwartz "Comic-con the Musical" set to Premiere at the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Los Angeles, CA, May 18, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Original musical “Comic-Con the Musical” written by Laura Watkins and Nicholas David Brandt has its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
The show follows a trio of con-goers on their path to friendship and acceptance.
With a vibrant backdrop of cosplay, fandom, and celebrity, “Comic-Con the Musical” runs on both laughs and heart. Its heightened sense of reality cemented by the presence of an actual alien con-goer. The trio at the heart of the story must face off against said alien, a egotistical idea thief, and self-doubt to garner the attention of a moviemaking mogul set to reignite his own spark of creativity by elevating some lucky fan from consumer to creator. The ultimate lessons being that a nerd is a fine thing to be and that everyone has a superpower, if they take the time to look inside and recognize it.
“Comic-Con the Musical” was previously chosen to participate in the 2016 ASCAP Foundation DreamWorks Musical Workshop with Stephen Schwartz at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, CA. Additional songs have also been featured during the Musi-Cal series at Rockwell Table and Stage.
