Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, February 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The first shopping center in the ethnic Albanian-majority area of southern Serbia, Interspeed Shopping Center in Presevo, is set to open summer 2008.
Interspeed Shopping Center will have a total area of 19,000 m2 and a retail area of 12,650 m2 with 84 units. It will feature a supermarket, fashion stores, electronics stores, cafes and restaurants and a gas station. Colliers International Serbia is the leasing agent, with leasing having already started.
Interspeed Shopping Center will be placed on one of the main traffic arteries in Southeast Europe, on the main route from Europe to Asia, with approximately four million people per year and nearly 200,000 trucks passing, according to official figures. It will have primary catchment area of 300,000 people within 15 minutes' drive and a secondary catchment area of 1,200,000 within an hour's drive.
According to Colliers International Serbia, the shopping center offers a tremendous commercial opportunity to Albanian communities around the world. Jovica Jakovac, Managing Director of Colliers International Serbia, said, “This is a very exciting opportunity for Albanian investors internationally, given the highly strategic placing of the shopping center so close to the border.”
Jelena Jevremovic, Consultant, Colliers International Serbia's Retail Department, added, “The center will represent a completely new concept of shopping and entertainment in this region. With a MOL gas station within the complex, and supermarket, fashion stores and sports, the shopping center will offer a complete service to visitors, travelers and the local population.”
Slavisa Potezica, of Interspeed, concluded, “There is huge retailing potential here with more than a million people within an hour's drive, and four million people passing by every year. We think this shopping center has every chance of being an enormous success.”
