StyleCon Hosts Swati Diamini Mandela
StyleCon brings together a community of fashion and beauty lovers, digital influencers, and style and taste makers with exclusive brands to engage, discuss, influence, and celebrate women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship while building networks and featuring the latest beauty products and services and fashion trends.
Newport Beach, CA, May 30, 2017 --(PR.com)-- StyleCon comes to two cities in the next few months, Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, September 23, at the Fashion Industry Gallery, with social media "insta-lebrity" panels, keynotes, and presentations, and Orange County, California, on Saturday, November 4 at the OC Fair & Event Center with Swati Diamini Mandela, granddaughter of Nelson and Winnie Mandela, as the keynote speaker.
StyleCon brings together a community of fashion and beauty lovers for a day-long festival to celebrate women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship and to build connections with like-minded individuals as well as offering the latest products and fashion trends and complimentary beauty services to all attending.
As an international figure with global recognition, Swati continues to spread a message about her family legacy of peace and unity, equal opportunity and women’s rights. “Swati is considered one of the most stylish women in South Africa and StyleCon is pleased to support her as she shares her important story,” said StyleCon co-founder Irene Martino.
Fighting discrimination is an important matter to Swati and her family. She is not only the granddaughter of the late Nelson Mandela, past president of South Africa, and Winnie Mandela, the former leader of the African National Congress Women’s League, Swati is the daughter of Zenani Mandela, the ambassador to Argentina.
Swati is the founding partner and managing director of Qunu Workforce, South Africa’s leading consultancy for creating equality in the workforce for those living with disabilities. In addition, she co-authored the autobiography “491 Days” with the Nelson Mandela Foundation about her grandmother and is working with Emmy award winning director Mandy Jacobson to co-produce a documentary about the life of Winnie Mandela in partnership with the Ichikowitz Family Foundation’s African Oral History Archive.
“We have the power within ourselves to overcome the limitations of our circumstances and imagine a better life for all,” Swati Mandela said. “Not just for you - not just for me - but for everyone. My grandfather, when he retired, said, ‘I’m handing it over to you - the young people of my country, the young people of the world. We have taken things as far as we can. Now it is up to you to move things forward.”
Tickets for both StyleCon Dallas and StyleCon OC are $39 and include a StyleTote valued at over $100 and complimentary beauty services. VIP tickets are $79 and $149 and include more deluxe giveaways. For more information visit stylecon.com or email info@stylecon.com.
