YMCA Joins National Event to Promote Healthy Lifestyles for Older Adults
Elizabeth, NJ, June 01, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Gateway Family YMCA joins an estimated 1,000 local groups to celebrate the 24th Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day (NSHFD) on May 31st, 2017. As an official host site, the Y will hold information sessions and community classes on the 31st centered on the theme, “With Movement…There’s Improvement!”
On this day, The Gateway Family YMCA will join with an estimated 100,000 seniors across the country expected to help promote active, healthy lifestyles through physical fitness, good nutrition and preventive care. According to Krystal R. National Senior Health and Fitness Day at The Gateway Family YMCA takes place on May 31st at the Elizabeth Branch - 135 Madison Avenue, Elizabeth, Five Points Branch - 201 Tucker Avenue, Union, Rahway Branch - 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, and Wellness Center Branch - 1000 Galloping Hill Road, Union and WISE Center YMCA Branch – 2095B Berwyn Street, Union, NJ.
National Senior Health & Fitness Day is always held on the last Wednesday in May in support of Older Americans Month and National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. The program, the largest of its kind, is organized by the Mature Market Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for professionals who work with older adults.
