Meet the Finalists - Vrai Announces Finalists in Green Wedding Contest

Oak Brook, IL, February 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Vrai, an eco-friendly company concerned with assisting environmentally conscious couples to capture and plan their wedding day in eco-ethical ways, has announced the finalists of their green wedding contest. The finalists’ wedding plans incorporate a green philosophy and work towards minimizing the impact on the planet and maximizing the impact on the community. Three finalists and their green wedding stories are now posted to www.vraiphoto.blogspot.com and site visitors have the opportunity to vote for their favorite until February 13. The finalist that receives the most votes will be declared the winner and announced on February 14. The finalists are:

Leslie and Sheldon, California
With an outdoor wedding and reception planned (which will also include camping for the guests), this eco-conscious couple believes “strongly in animal rights and preserving the environment” and is asking guests to make donations to animal shelters and support groups in lieu of gifts.

Stephanie and Mark, Illinois
In addition to creating a green wedding, the couple hopes their sustainability efforts will have a long lasting impact on their guests. They are creating a wedding website that will not only keep everyone informed on their eco-wedding plans, but will provide “weekly tips on ways they can green their lives.”

Colleen and Tom, Louisiana
A chance meeting on MySpace has taken this couple halfway across the country and with family members spread across five states, they have chosen two separate geographic locations (one for the ceremony and one for the reception) to limit the size of the wedding and the amount of travel by guests.

Couples were asked to submit stories about their green wedding plans with the winning couple to receive a Vrai photo package that includes travel (U.S. only), up to 10 hours of coverage, paperless proofs and an online gallery (a $5000 value).

Vrai was founded by professional photographer Kristina Carter who uses her unique background in wild life ecology to add a new dimension to her work. Weddings photographed by Kristina Carter have been published in several publications including a recent spread in the knot Chicago.
