Medicare Supplement Insurance Association Boosts Media Exposure by 26 Percent
Positive media interest in Medigap insurance has boosted media exposure for the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance by 26 percent and annual media reach to about 140 million individuals.
Los Angeles, CA, June 03, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance reported heightened media exposure for the trade organization during the first five months of the year.
"A comprehensive analysis of media coverage that referenced the Association increased by 26 percent compared to the prior year," reported Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI). Slome was sharing the analysis as part of an industry overview provided to key insurers and centers of influence.
"The potential reach of news coverage citing AAMSI for the period January 1 through June 1 was nearly 140 million individuals," Slome shared. "There is clearly increasing interest in the topic of Medicare Supplement insurance." Medicare Supplement is often referred to as Medigap insurance.
The Association undertook the media analysis to evaluate strategies going forward. "Our anecdotal sense was that interest in Medigap had increased but we wanted some hard data to substantiate our feelings," Slome shared with the group.
According to the AAMSI some 13.1 million Americans had a Medicare Supplement insurance policy in 2016. "The number of Americans with a Medigap insurance policy has grown significantly over the past five years," shares Slome. The Association director shared that as a result of heightened interest, an online directory connecting consumers with local Medicare insurance agents was initiated during the first quarter of 2017. Over 400 agents have already listed themselves on the directory he adds.
