Nora J. Robinson Honored as a Top Executive by Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Publication
Knoxville, TN, June 13, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Nora J. Robinson of Knoxville, Tennessee has been honored as a Top Executive for 2017 by Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the nonprofit field.
About Nora A. Robinson
Ms. Robinson is the Director of Events and Development at the YWCA Knoxville, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. She is responsible for fundraising, organizing and event planning. She cultivates and expands event sponsorship development and fulfillment and solicits in-kind donations for all events. Ms. Robinson assists the CEO in fundraising and actively participates on staff committees. She plans and implements all special events and event-related annual receptions and coordinates event logistics. She handles advertising, collateral design, production, distribution, qualifies and supervises event contractors, and helps to drive down costs and manage budgets. In addition, she works closely with the Director of Public Relations.
Ms. Robinson is affiliated the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communications.
After obtaining an A.A.S. in Electro-Mechanical Drafting from Chabot College in 1984, Ms. Robinson obtained a B.A. in Fine Arts from California State University-East Bay in 1991, receiving the Arts Affiliates Scholarship. She has held numerous positions including Director of Corporate Marketing Communications and Senior Director of Corporate Communications at Applied Materials, Inc. from 2000 through 2010. She served as the Website Manager at KaTom Restaurant Supply Inc. from July, 2013 through March, 2015, and the Sales Supervisor at The Tree and Vine from July, 2013 through May, 2015.
In her spare time, Ms. Robinson volunteers for Knoxville City People, Knox Heritage, the Knoxville Opera and the Second Harvest Food Bank. She is preparing a “Tribute to Women” on September 14, 2017, Knoxville's most prestigious acknowledgement of women in the East. She is also preparing for a “Race Against Racism” which will include a 5K race, a one-mile walk to the statue of Alex Haley, author of “Roots,"and a Kids Fun Run.
