Local Fighters Competing at Hinckley Grand Casino
Mitch Whiley and Megan Brody from Cellar Kickboxing and Martial Arts will be fighting at the Hinckley Grand Casino Feb. 15th, 2008.
New Brighton, MN, February 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Two very talented young fighters from the Cellar Kickboxing Gym in New Brighton will be in action Friday February 15th at the Hinckley Grand Casino in Hinckley, MN.
Mitch Whiley, age 20, is looking to stay unbeaten in his third amateur kickboxing bout against Adam Patneaude from Cambridge, MN. Patneaude is also undefeated with a record of 3 wins and 0 losses.
Joining Whiley from Cellar Kickboxing is Megan Brody, a 24 year old veterinary science student at the University of Minnesota. Megan will be making her kickboxing debut Friday evening against Brittany Laamanen from Ontario, Canada. Laamanen enters the ring with more experience (2 wins and 1 loss), but Brody is looking forward to the challenge; after training with much larger guys for the last few months, she is eager to mix it up with someone her own size.
The main event of the evening will be a professional North American title fight between Mitz Bandiera from Canada and Mark Streator from Illinois and will be filmed for Fox Sports Net Direct TV. Feb. 24th, Minneapolis, MN – Several youth karate students ages 5 to 14 will be competing at the MN State Open Karate Championships at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Boys and Girls will compete in forms, weapons, and point-sparring divisions based on age and belt rank.
