Discover Prince William & Manassas Celebrates National Travel & Tourism Week with Industry Awards & Luncheon Event; Distributes New Destination Video
Manassas, VA, June 08, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Discover Prince William & Manassas, the destination marketing organization for Prince William County & Manassas, Virginia, hosted elected officials, local tourism industry professionals on Friday, May 5th at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas, Virginia to celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week. This event celebrates the $608+ million in economic impact and $10.1 million in local tax revenue generated by tourism in Prince William County & the City of Manassas, Virginia.
Guests listened to remarks from the Chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, Corey Stewart (At-Large), Board of County Supervisor Ruth Anderson (Occoquan District), Manassas City Councilwoman Pamela Sebesky prior to the dynamic keynote presentation by Bill Geist, of DMOPROZ, Inc.
Other distinguished guests included U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (Virginia’s 10th Congressional District), representatives from United States Senator Tim Kaine’s Office, Congressman Gerry Connolly’s Office (Virginia’s 11th Congressional District) and Pat Pate, City Manager of the City of Manassas.

Luncheon guests also learned details about the new Prince William & Manassas Steins, Vines & Moonshine Trail that will be a new marketing initiative to promote the destinations many craft breweries, wineries and distilleries. Along with the introduction of the new trail, a grand prize raffle basket valued at over $550.00 was sent home with, Clarice Lelle from 2 Silos Brewing Co. The giveaway included promotional items from all of the breweries, wineries and distilleries throughout Prince William County & the City of Manassas that will be participating in the new Steins, Vines & Moonshine Trail.
Across Prince William & Manassas, travel employs a prosperous and diverse workforce of nearly 7,000 front line and hotel employees to restaurant, attraction and retail workers. Tourism also supports related sectors such as construction, services, manufacturing and finance.
