The YMCA will be hosting a Summer Open House July 21st – 23rd including special events free and open to the community including summer themed activities, sports, games, swimming and family art activities. Serving communities in Eastern Union County and Northern Middlesex County through five branches located in Elizabeth, Rahway and Union, The Gateway Family YMCA – Elizabeth Branch 135 Madison Avenue, Elizabeth, Five Points Branch 201 Tucker Avenue, Union, Rahway Branch 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, and Wellness Center Branch 1000 Galloping Hill Road, Union will celebrate the Summer Open House and invite the public to visit for a tour, membership and program information or a splash of summer fun.

For over 116 years, The Gateway Family YMCA has served the local community, providing quality programs and services for all. “In addition to many programs and services offered free to the community, The Gateway Family YMCA provides Financial Assistance ensuring that everyone in need can benefit,” stated Melynda A. Mileski, EVP/COO. Programs such as LiveSTRONG at the YMCA – a program for cancer survivors, Early Learning Readiness (ELR) – a school readiness program for preschool children and their caregivers and the 7th Grade Initiative – providing free YMCA members for all 7th grade students allow the YMCA to reach everyone in the community, free of charge.
Summer camp and summer program registration is ongoing at each branch and online at www.tgfymca.org/register with options including swim lessons for all ages, more than a hundred group fitness classes every week, youth sports, active older adult programs and WISE adult day services. Summer membership opportunities are also available at The Gateway Family YMCA for 1, 2 or 3 months throughout the summer, perfect for college students, families and seniors.
