Lance LoRusso, Author of When Cops Kill, Peacemaking and Blue News to Speak at FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (LEEDS) on June 14th

LoRusso’s presentation will be entitled, Leading Your Agency Through A Critical Incident and Handling the Media Storm. In this comprehensive presentation drawing from his own experience and his critically acclaimed books, When Cops Kill and Blue News, LoRusso will discuss what happens when there is an officer involved shooting and what steps must be taken within the law enforcement agency in regards to the investigation and also handling the media and public. He will offer a detailed outline how agencies can navigate through such a turbulent situation. LoRusso will also be signing copies of his books after his presentation. When Cops Kill: The Aftermath of a Critical Incident was LoRusso’s first book and is a comprehensive study for law enforcement and family members of law enforcement officers to deal with the aftermath of the law enforcement officer having been involved in a shooting or violent alteration with a suspect. The book deals with the media coverage that will follow such an incident, the investigation, the potential of a civil lawsuit and how to deal emotionally with such an incident. The book is an excellent resource for law enforcement officers and their family members for the day when the call of duty leads to more than a random warrant being served or ticket being issued.
