10-Year Market Forecast - Inspection Scope and Cleaning for Fiber Optic Connectors
According to ElectroniCast, the worldwide fiber connector inspection scope/cleaner value reached $107 million in 2016.
Aptos, CA, June 10, 2017 --(PR.com)-- ElectroniCast Consultants, a leading market & technology forecast consultancy addressing the fiber optics communications industry, today announced the release of their market forecast and analysis of the use of handheld inspection microscopes, probes and cleaners for fiber optic connectors.
According to ElectroniCast, the worldwide consumption value for these devices reached $107 million in 2016. The American region, in 2016, represented a 40 percent market share of worldwide consumption of hand-held fiber microscope and cleaners for fiber optic connectors. The American region (North, Central and South America) market share is forecast to decrease, however, during the forecast period (2016-2026).
The Europe/Middle East/Africa region (EMEA) represented 25 percent relative market share, leaving the Asia Pacific region (APAC) with $37.6 million in 2016.
Microscopes are used for inspecting polish-type fiber optic connectors during the termination process to find possible defects. Visual inspection of the end surface of connector ferrules with a microscope (with or without a probe) is used to find foreign material, such as dust/oil, moister/other, as well as scratches on fiber optic connectors. There are different types of cleaning devices used, which were researched in this study project.
The study researched over 40 vendors competing in the global use of fiber optic connector inspection scope and cleaner market, which ElectroniCast tracks in a product matrix showing participation in both single function and integrated/combined function (scope/cleaner) devices.
