Parents Speaking Out Against Addiction Launches Family Support Website
Parents Speaking Out Against Addiction (PSOAA) is proud to announce the launch of their new online family support website.
Clearwater, FL, June 15, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The website is a resource directed at helping families with drug addicted loved ones find the help they need through drug rehab family programs. Family programs are designed to help families cope with a loved one’s drug or alcohol addiction problems through various educational, counseling and other supportive services, and are therefore immensely helpful to the full recovery process.
When a loved one is suffering from drug or alcohol addiction, it is not uncommon for their every thought, decision and action to revolve around obtaining and using more of these substances. They are unwilling or unable to see the extent of the damages created by their actions, and are often convinced that their choices affect no one but themselves and are therefore no one’s business but their own. Family members know only too well that this is far from true, and that their loved one’s drug or alcohol addiction affects their lives too.
Drug or alcohol addiction can strain an individual’s relationships with his family members, who often have no idea what they need to do to resolve the many problems they are facing. Not only are they concerned for their loved one and uncertain about how to help their loved one without further enabling their addictions, they are usually also struggling with the problems their loved one’s addiction has created for them--including emotional challenges.
Support for Families Struggling with Addiction
Many parents who are confronted by their child’s drug or alcohol addiction problems have great difficulty simply in acknowledging these problems. It is not unusual for them to work through denial, shock, dismay and grief before they even recognize that something must be done. Unfortunately, precious time is wasted while a parent struggles to come to terms with the situation and even waits--hoping that the problem will go away on its own. Once a parent does recognize that they need to take action, they are often confronted by the fact that they don’t know what action to take, or where to receive the support and help they need.
PSOAA seeks to help family members that are struggling with a loved one’s addiction problems by providing them with the resources they need in order to help themselves, and their loved ones, onto the path of lasting recovery. There are many different rehab facilities across the country that provide family programs, but it is not always easy to find the right one. PSOAA simplifies the process by providing the names and locations of reputable family programs available in areas across every state in the country. Counselors are also on hand to help in any way possible, so that no family member of a drug addicted loved one ever feels they must struggle forward alone, and every family member of a drug addicted loved one correctly recognizes that addiction help is possible.
