Local Startup Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Reinvent TV Dinners
Served LLC, a Houston-based startup, announces the launch of its Kickstarter campaign. Meant to solve the perennial problem of "what's for dinner?" Served offers customers a convenient way to enjoy a gourmet meal without having to do the meal planning, grocery shopping, ingredient prep, and most of all, cooking.

Brandice Spencer founded Served because, as a busy, working mom of two, she was frustrated with popular ingredient kits and was tired of fast food and restaurant take out.
“I tried ingredient kit companies but didn’t like the fact that I had to still cook,” said Spencer. “I knew there had to be a better way to make dinner, and I knew if I could find a solution, I could help hundreds of other people.”
Served differs from other meal kit delivery services in that each meal is fully-cooked by Executive Chef Curtis Bufford III, making it easier for people who don’t always have time to cook from scratch. Served uses fresh real ingredients, vacuum seals meals to preserve freshness for up to eight months, and can be heated in less than 10 minutes.
“During the first 8 months, we shipped 60 to 70 meals per week to customers throughout the Texas area. We've improved our processes and recipes and now we are in the best position to scale our business and start shipping nationwide using Kickstarter funds,” said Spencer.
