Leading Enterprise Architecture Tool ABACUS Adds Data Integrations, Visualization and UI Updates
New release from Avolution – ABACUS 5.1 – increases speed of data management and modeling
Herndon, VA, June 23, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The new release of Avolution’s leading enterprise architecture tool – ABACUS 5.1 – allows users to seamlessly integrate and access data from a broad range of sources including ServiceNow and Technopedia through a simple user interface. ABACUS 5.1 also offers new 3D data visualization options, faster processing and analytics, icon libraries for executive reports and additional user experience updates.
Avolution’s Grant Quick says: “Businesses are in a race to achieve performance improvements and to engineer and re-engineer systems and processes so they are both nimble and robust. We believe the winners will be those who can move fast to interrogate and analyze their data, and present it clearly.
“One of the keys to success for architects and innovation managers is to ensure that technical and business tools are in-sync, allowing quick, evidence-based analysis and recommendations. ABACUS 5.1 offers a step-change in speed and data integration. Users can upload data from a wide range of sources including Excel, Visio, SharePoint and now ServiceNow and Technopedia. This also allows smooth migration for enterprise architects who have outgrown 'PowerPoint and Excel' and other modeling approaches."
ABACUS integrations also allow quick data exchange with Google Sheets and SharePoint. ABACUS 5.1 contains tighter data integrations with Microsoft OneDrive and OneDrive for Business, and Excel roundtripping has been extended to Excel Online and other productivity suites.
Data visualization upgrades, including high-contrast “midnight mode” 3D data visualizations enable users to “fly-through” a dynamic model of their enterprise infrastructure. This feature provides a powerful communication tool when explaining the connections and dependencies between applications and systems and the architectural structure of the business.
Both architect-to-architect and architect-to-executive collaboration features have been extended. ABACUS provides a variety of ways for non-architect users to gain visibility and understanding of architectural intelligence. These include easily navigable web-pages and portlets and dynamic charts and diagrams available in ABACUS Intelligence. Additional filtering, file upload and other improvements are now available in this module.
Designers have added new icon libraries for preparing executive-friendly presentations plus templates for Application Portfolio Management and Project Management.
Development engineers have doubled-down on improving the speed and usability of the most popular ABACUS functions which save EAs time and effort day-to-day. Faster modeling can be achieved by a new double-click editing feature for annotations and properties in diagrams.
The speed of running server side algorithms has been more than doubled and published models can now support stored comments for feedback.
Available as either a cloud-based web-app or for on-premise deployment, ABACUS is one of the only EA tools fully certified for TOGAF 9.1 and ArchiMate 3.0, and also supports over 100 other industry frameworks. Free 30-day trials of ABACUS can be downloaded through their website at www.avolutionsoftware.com.
Enterprise architects interested in attending the ABACUS 5.1 launch webinar on June 22nd are welcome to download a full 30-day trial of ABACUS or email contact@avolutionsoftware.com to be added to the invitation list.
