SolarCraft Helps the Meadow Club Save Energy & Money - Premier Marin County Golf Course Installs Large Solar Pool Heating System
SolarCraft announced today that it has completed installation of a solar pool heating system at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, CA. The renowned Marin County Golf Course & County Club’s pool is now heated by clean, renewable energy.
Novato, CA, June 29, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The new solar powered water heating system helps maintain an average water temperature of 80 degrees from April to October. It will save the Meadow Club thousands of dollars in utility fees and is projected to eliminate 106,640 lbs. of harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
The solar water heating system consists of 32 FAFCO high efficiency solar thermal panels. The 1,302 square-feet of solar collectors are ground mounted on either side of a public-access fire road near the Club, mostly hidden from view by trees and foliage.
“Our Club Members and staff take pride that we have taken this step to provide clean energy heating to our swimming pool,” said Jack Grehan, Meadow Club General Manager. “The system is unobtrusive to our property and has been working up to all expectations. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with SolarCraft on this project.”
In addition to the energy savings, over 40% of the system cost was reimbursed via the CSI Thermal Rebate Program. The CSI Thermal Rebate Program offers cash rebates on solar water heating systems for Commercial properties. The rebate program is overseen by the California Public Utilities Commission as part of the California Solar Initiative.
As part of The Meadow Club’s ongoing sustainability goals, the club has lowered energy use by using LED lighting, implemented water saving measures, added solar electricity to two buildings, and now the Club’s pool is heated by solar. Turning on of system coincided with the Grand Opening of Pool Season on Memorial Day weekend. Meadow Club members can now enjoy swimming in warm water heated by the sun.
