Orange Coworking Book Fair to Benefit Book Fairies
Orange Coworking's Indie Author Book Fair not only spotlights local Austin authors but will also benefit Book Fairies, an international non-profit that promotes reading through leaving books in public places.
Austin, TX, July 13, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Orange Coworking is holding their first Austin Indie Author Book Fair on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 10am to 3pm. The Book Fair will feature Austin authors in a wide variety of genres, from children’s and young adult books to fiction, non-fiction and sci-fi.
In addition to highlighting local Austin authors, Orange’s Book Fair will also be collecting new and gently-used children’s and young adult books to benefit Book Fairies, an international organization that hides books in public places to encourage reading. The book collection will run from Monday, July 17, 2017, through Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Books can be dropped off at Orange Coworking anytime during business hours, 8am to 6pm Monday-Friday.
Book Fairies share with the world a love of reading and a desire to share books with others. Currently, there are over 100 countries involved, from New Zealand to the United Arab Emirates. Book Fairies volunteers leave books in public places to encourage not only reading, but sharing the love of reading with others.
Recently, the actress Emma Watson, star of Hulu’s new series, “The Handmaiden’s Tale,” helped Book Fairies hide 100 signed copies of “The Handmaiden’s Tale” throughout Paris.
“We are extremely proud to host the Austin Indie Author Book Fair and to be helping Book Fairies. Helping children learn to love reading is the start of a life-long love of learning, which leads to better ideas and more independent businesses,” says Shelley Delayne, owner of Orange Coworking. “The writing community in Austin is so vibrant and collaborative, and we love the energy behind the Austin writing community.”
Throughout the year, Orange Coworking supports indie authors by sponsoring write-ins and free writer’s days, as well as space for book launches and creative collaboration opportunities.
