Royal Approval for MR Solutions with Queen’s Award Win at Buckingham Palace
MR Solutions, the Surrey-based manufacturer of preclinical MRI imaging systems, was received by the Queen at Buckingham Palace on July 11 in celebration of their Queen’s Award for Enterprise which is awarded in recognition of their outstanding success in growing overseas sales. This is the second Queen’s Award that MR Solutions has won, the previous one was for innovation in 2016.
Guildford, United Kingdom, July 19, 2017 --(PR.com)-- MR Solutions developed the world’s first range of commercially available superconducting, helium-free compact preclinical MRI scanners. These scanners are used for research purposes such as in cell visualisation for drug discovery.
The winner’s reception was hosted by Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. Dr David Taylor, CEO and Dr Vera Zhang, Director of MR Solutions’ international office based in Boston, stood in the receiving line for the Queen who congratulated the winners.
MR Solutions is the only company in the world to offer a range of scanners from 3T to 9.4T (T is for Tesla the power of the magnet) which does not require the bulky liquid helium cooling jacket and all the safety infrastructure that goes with it. MR Solutions’ imaging scanners are simply wheeled into a laboratory where previous bulky systems which required helium top-up needed major building modification to house them.
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is valid for five years and is the most prestigious business award in the UK which is presented to a select group of businesses having been recognised for outstanding business achievement. Now in its 51st year, the awards are made annually by HM The Queen and are only given for the highest levels of business excellence. Companies have to demonstrate their financial strength as well as their sales success.
