MDO Partners Advises on New Venture for Grove Bay Hospitality Group and Top Chef Winner Jeremy Ford
Managing Partner Richard Montes de Oca Spearheads Asset Acquisition and Long-Term Commercial Lease for Stubborn Seed.
Miami, FL, July 20, 2017 --(PR.com)-- MDO Partners is pleased to announce the closing of a transaction resulting in the creation of Stubborn Seed, the first of two new restaurants that formalize the partnership between the hospitality experts at Grove Bay Hospitality Group (GBHG) and Season 13 “Top Chef” Winner Jeremy Ford. Stubborn Seed is a highly anticipated new restaurant scheduled to open in September 2017 and located in the South of Fifth neighborhood of South Beach at 101 Washington Avenue.
Managing Partner Richard Montes de Oca and Associate Counsel Lauren Bengochea worked directly with GBHG Co-founders and Co-CEOs Ignacio Garcia-Menocal and Francesco Balli to complete the transaction.
“Our firm was pleased to represent the talented and innovative team at Grove Bay Hospitality Group in another exciting restaurant venture,” says Richard Montes de Oca. “During the transaction, we provided creative legal solutions that mitigated unique business risks and protected our client’s best interests.”
“We were fortunate to have Richard Montes de Oca and his team at MDO Partners advise us on this complex and time-sensitive transaction to help launch Stubborn Seed, which furthers our overall strategic vision and adds to our celebrated portfolio of restaurants,” said Garcia-Menocal. “MDO Partners served as an extension of our team, provided valuable counsel and collaborated with all parties to drive the seamless and successful closing of this transaction.”
MDO Partners was responsible for advising on the deal terms and structure, conducting due diligence, drafting and negotiating the transaction documents and assisted with the closing. Despite some challenging and unique issues, the MDO Partners team worked closely and diligently with all parties to ensure that the entire transaction was completed in approximately 45 days from start to finish.
MDO Partners has been GBHG’s trusted legal advisor on a variety of projects and transactions, including American Harvest, Big Easy Winebar & Grill, Glass and Vine, and Stiltsville Fish Bar.
