The company was originally founded in Madison, WI in 1993 as an outsourced IT department for a world leading diagnostics and instrumentation manufacturer. In the late 1990’s the company officially registered its name as Network Engineering Technologies to better reflect the company’s core services of providing end-to-end voice, data and video network infrastructure solutions. In 1997 as the E-rate program was established to ensure eligible schools have affordable access to modern information services, NET was commissioned by 62 school districts in the state of Wisconsin to install/support Internet and Ethernet capabilities that are tied together with Wide Area Networks (WAN).
