Bindman & Co Solicitors Invest in the Future of North East Law Professionals
Newcastle, United Kingdom, July 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Bindman Solicitors, trading as Bindman & Co, is investing in future generations of solicitors and legal professionals – hoping to give back to the region after almost four decades of operating here.
The company has two offices, one in Front Street, Whickham and one on Brandling Street, Gateshead. They have been trading in the North East for over 40 years, providing general legal practice, specialising in commercial and residential conveyancing, will writing, powers of attorney and trusts and probate.
The company has begun to proactively welcome and train new generations in their practices. Recently it welcomed two apprentices, to develop the skills they’ll use throughout their careers, and is also providing a Law Training Contract for a key member of staff.
Senior partner at the company, Leslie Bindman, manages the Whickham offices, alongside conducting residential and commercial conveyancing and probate, wills and trust work. He has been practicing in Whickham for 41 years, after graduating from the University of Newcastle in 1972 and becoming a qualified lawyer in 1975.
Les Bindman explains his intentions behind inviting apprentices into the workplace to begin their career, “For years the North East has been my home, and I have had the pleasure of working in the region for over four decades. With this in mind, it felt very important to me that I could give something back. There are so many talented individuals in the region, I feel lucky that we’re able to help further the careers of some of them.”
The company is also helping existing conveyancer Louise Yabsley through her Legal Professional Course (LPC) at Northumbria University. Louise completed her legal degree in 2014, and is now doing her LPC course part-time, while working, with exams throughout. Louise will begin her Training Contract with Bindman & Co. She comments, “I’m really enjoying taking my career to the next level. I’ve worked in conveyancing for years, but doing the LPC and period of recognised training at Bindman Solicitors gives me more qualifications to support it. It’s a challenge to study and work at the same time, but it’ll be worth it in the end!”
Apprentices Thomas Joyce and Alisha Watson are both studying Businesses Admin in the Whickham and Gateshead offices respectively. Once his apprenticeship has finished, Thomas will begin official paralegal training with the company.
Les Bindman’s Solicitors can be found at 22 Front St, Whickham, Newcastle upon Tyne NE16 4DT and at Arch 7, Hymers Court, Brandling Street, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear NE8 2BA.
