College Receives Record Breaking Science Results
Oswestry, United Kingdom, July 28, 2017 --(PR.com)-- North Shropshire College (NSC) is celebrating its Level 3 BTEC Applied Science results which were the highest ever achieved, with over half of students attending the course achieving the highest grade of D* D* D* (Triple Starred Distinction).
The course has consistently seen students achieving high grades in recent years, but the number of students achieving the highest grade has increased this year. To achieve the D* D* D* grade (equivalent to three A grades at A level and one at AS Level), students must consistently achieve Distinction grades in the units that make up the course.
Programme Leader, Shôn Prebble comments “These fantastic results are testament to the hard work and dedication of both our students and their tutors. The students have worked incredibly hard over the two years and have been a pleasure to teach. As well as their work on assignments, the students have taken part in a range of extracurricular activities and visits to professional laboratories and universities to develop their scientific skills. These skills together with the high grades have meant that not only are students moving on with excellent qualifications, many are heading off to university with unconditional offers.”
Matthew Peever, a student on the Applied Science course at NSC also comments “To study Applied Science has been the greatest decision I have ever made! The tutors are some of the most supportive people I have ever had the pleasure to be taught by. There have been many great memories I have from the course, but I would have to say that making our own paracetamol is near the top of the list.”
