Dallas, TX, July 28, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Celebrating 40 Years of Producing and Distributing Documentary Films that Change Lives on KERA
President Kennedy, a teenager from the Dallas projects, Gloria Steinem, and Big Tex - all have been featured in films produced by Media Projects, Inc. in its milestone 40 years.
KERA will air a one-hour Retrospective celebrating the work of Media Projects, Inc. and its filmmakers, Allen Mondell and Cynthia Salzman Mondell, on September 14, 2017 on the series “Frame of Mind” at 10 p.m.
The Mondells founded Media Projects, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, in 1978 with the intent of making a difference in people’s lives by personalizing complex issues with film. Together they have created over 40 award-winning documentary films and educational videos that have brought awareness about depression and suicide, empowered girls and women, and made history come alive. Some of their other topics include African American life, substance abuse, anti-Semitism, and violence prevention.
“A woman called us to say she saved a man’s life after she watched A Reason To Live. A family wrote how Louie, Louie helped them discuss caregiving for their elderly mother. A young boy talked about equal rights for everyone after watching Dreams Of Equality. A high school class developed a volunteer reading project after watching the JFK Legacy Film. It is those types of stories that make me feel our films have made a difference,” said Cynthia Salzman Mondell.
“I decided a long time ago that we have a responsibility to be useful, to be responsible, and to be compassionate. I’d like to think that our films have made this possible.” -Allen Mondell.
Media Projects work is made possible with the generosity of foundations and donations from committed supporters.
The Mondells salute the talented Texas film community that has worked on their films.
