Atlanta, GA, July 30, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Kandid.ly, a Cincinnati-born and Austin-based startup that seamlessly connects photographers with customers, officially launched in Atlanta this weekend during the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival.
"We’ve been in beta for nearly a year in Atlanta,” shares Sam E. Ulu, Kandid.ly’s CEO and founder, who was the winner of Atlanta’s Startup Runway Pitch Competition. “Now we’re excited for our official launch in Atlanta- a booming and international city. And we couldn’t imagine a better festival to make our debut than the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival.”
Kandid.ly, established in 2014 by co-founders Sam Elekwachi-Ulu and Maria Walley, has raised capital from various investors in the United States, including Atlanta-based Valor Ventures, after graduating from the TechStars Accelerator- which only accepts 1% of applicants. To support their Atlanta launch, Kandid.ly sponsored the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival by commissioning five photographers to cover the event of more than 40,000 people.
We are in the midst of a visual age sparked and sustained by social media, and quality photos matter now more than ever. Even with smartphone cameras in hand, there is still a need to engage professional and semi-professional photographers, but finding a photographer can be time-consuming and, not to mention, expensive. “Booking a photographer shouldn’t be hard,” shares co-founder Walley. “Many of life’s moments deserve more than a low-quality ‘selfie,’ and trying to find a photographer is far more complex than it needs to be. We’re fixing that.”
Atlanta is the perfect city for Kandid.ly’s burgeoning business- and this was made apparent during the festival. “We were thrilled to bring the Kandid.ly experience to those who attended the ice cream festival,” shares Kanya Maliwan, Event Operations at Kandid.ly. “We captured the energy and sticky ice cream hands while people enjoyed living in the moment. After the event, attendees were able to access the photos using Kandid.ly’s SMS technology, which allows them to view albums by texting a unique event code.”
"Establishing Kandid.ly in Atlanta is a key component of our growth strategy," Ulu shares. "We are confident that we are going to change the game for Atlanta families seeking to live in the moment, as well as the photographers capturing those moments.”
