Rahway Branch Hosts Art Workshop Series Art Exhibit

Rahway, NJ, August 15, 2017 --(PR.com)-- On May 10th, The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch hosted an Art Workshop Series Art Exhibit in partnership with the Cerebral Palsy League, Cranford, NJ in celebration of the artists enrolled in the specialized arts program.

The Art Exhibit allowed students to share their artwork and projects with family, YMCA members, staff and the community at the Rahway Branch YMCA, 1564 Irving Street in Rahway, NJ. During the course of the Art Workshop series, the YMCA and Cerebral Palsy League worked together to provide the students with instruction, inspiration and assistance in expressing their creativity in a variety of projects.

“It was a honor to be able to provide this Art Exhibit for the artists in this program,” stated Krystal R. Canady, CEO, The Gateway Family YMCA. “The ability to showcase this amazing work and allow the artists to share their work directly with family and friends was a heart-warming experience for all in attendance.”

In addition to the artists from the Cerebral Palsy League, the Art Exhibit included a presentation by a chorus from The Jardine Academy in Cranford, NJ. Through the collaboration with the Cerebral Palsy League and the YMCA Specialized Arts Program, 12 artists were provided an opportunity to showcase their creative spirit in this public Art Exhibit. “These artists worked very hard and to be able to share in this opportunity to exhibit was a very special experience for all of us at the YMCA,” stated Rodger D. Koerber, Branch Executive Director, The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch. This event was made possible through an award by The Union County Heart Grant.
