Jimmy G’s “Super Chef” Eric Fisher to Appear Live on WQED’s Steel City Chefs, Saturday, February 23, 2008
Pittsburgh, PA, February 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Jimmy G’s Restaurant & Catering’s Super Chef, Eric Fisher, will be appearing live on WQED’s new cooking program, “Steel City Chefs” on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Chef Eric will be preparing his famous Taipei Tuna Noodle Salad. In celebration of Chef Eric’s appearance on this prestigious show, Jimmy G’s Restaurant & Catering will be offering specials and promotions through the end of March, including a new appetizer/wine pairing, featuring the Taipei Tuna Noodle Salad.
Chef Eric came to Jimmy G’s Restaurant & Catering from Seattle Washington, where he worked for such famous restaurants as The Space Needle, Benjamin's and The Foghorn. After marrying his wife Carol, a Pittsburgh native, he moved across the country and began working for Jimmy G’s. "Fish" trained at CEC Richard Magliettas Private Culinary School and has attended numerous workshops at the CIA Greystone in Napa Valley, CA. Being from the West Coast, Eric enjoys preparing dishes made with exotic fish, including rare Sunfish from Hawaii and Trout from Tasmania. Chef Eric has added some of his signature dishes to the already popular menu at Jimmy G’s, helping to maintain Jimmy G’s as a premiere restaurant in Pittsburgh.
Chef Eric recently won the Simon Mall Pittsburgh Super Chef award for 2007. He has won this award three out of the last four years. Jimmy G’s Restaurant has received numerous awards from local readers’ polls over the past 11 years for fine food and service.
Jimmy G's Restaurant & Catering is located just four blocks south of the Highland Park Bridge on Old Freeport Road, just minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Jimmy G's specializes in Traditional American Cuisine, including seafood, veal, chicken, pasta, steaks, sandwiches, and salads. Their kitchen staff meticulously prepares each meal to order, offering fresh salmon prepared differently each day, prime rib on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, homemade desserts and a great cup of cappuccino to finish the meal. Their business hours are 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. A variety of cocktails and beers are available in the Pub, which is open until 2:00 a.m. nightly. Dinner service starts at 5:00 p.m., and they are closed on Sundays. They will be open on Easter Sunday and Mother’s Day for their Grand Champagne Brunch. Their banquet facilities can accommodate groups up to 450 guests.
