Action Alameda Announces Report on Alameda School Funds

Action Alameda releases a report on the use of Alameda Unified School District funds set-aside for housing and capital outlay.

Alameda, CA, February 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Action Alameda, of Alameda, California, announced today that they have released a report on the use of funds passed-through from the City of Alameda redevelopment agency to the Alameda Unified School District.

Over the past several months, Action Alameda has conducted an in-depth investigation into the uses of City of Alameda redevelopment funds, and how redevelopment relates to the funding of Alameda schools. The release of the report coincides with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's announcement of a proposed budget that cuts $4 billion from California school funding, and Mayor Gavin Newsom's pledge of $30 million of "rainy day fund" money to keep San Francisco's schools open.
