Vitex Announces Availability of Super Flat Top Athermal AWGs
Ridgefield Park, NJ, August 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Vitex LLC, a leading provider of high speed transceivers and video extension solutions continues to expand its passive portfolio by offering Super Athermal AWGs (Arrayed Waveguide Grating). Designed for outside plant applications, super athermal AWGs deliver optimum performance even in extreme heat and cold.
Athermal AWGs are temperature independent wavelength Multiplexers/Demultiplexers combining or splitting optical signals of different wavelengths. The device’s extreme stability eliminates the negative effects caused by temperature variation.
Conventional athermal AWGs are made to support a total of 60pm or larger wavelength drift, which amounts to compensating 0.5pm/°C shift in the operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Based on patent pending optical packaging technology, our Super AAWGs are made to support a total of only 20pm or less wavelength drift, equivalent to 0.15pm/°C shift; hence such Super AAWG can sufficiently withstand the industrial temperature operational range of -40°C ~ 85°C.
Key Benefits
* Robust athermal performance even in -40°C ~ 85°C
* Completely passive operation
* Ideal for 25GHz, wireless front-haul and outside plant applications
"We are continuing to partner with innovative manufacturers to bring niche products like super athermal AWG to the US market," explains Michael Ko, CEO of Vitex. “Our AAWGs will address the needs of our DWDM customers for applications beyond 50GHz.”
Vitex also offers standard athermal AWGs at AAWGs in multiple channels (e.g., 44CH, 48CH, 80CH, 88CH, and 96CH), spectrum (e.g., Gaussian, Semi-flat, and Flat-top), channel spacing (200GHz, 100GHz, 75GHz, and 50GHz), band (C-band, L-band, dual C/L cyclic bands). Integrated modules and custom packaging are also available.
