Tech Coast Venture Network Forum Teaches Entrepreneurs How to Make a Good Impression Before Potential Investors
Irvine, CA, February 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Tech Coast Venture Network has invited a distinguished panel of angel and venture capital investors to attend its next monthly forum to discuss what entrepreneurs can do today to increase the odds of making a good impression before potential investors. This Forum will be held at the offices of Knobe Martens Olson & Bear LLP in Irvine, Calif. on February 28, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
According to Bart Greenberg, TCVN chairman and partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, “this program will feature two entrepreneurs making investment presentations to a panel of high-profile angel investors active in this space. The panel will provide real-time feedback with the intent to educate our audience as to the basic elements that are required in any presentation to investors. For those considering making a pitch to investors, this is a ‘must-see’ program.” The companies were selected based on their proposed technologies, product and/or service offerings, and the potential investment opportunities.
This TCVN Forum, as with all TCVN monthly forums, also offers entrepreneurs several networking opportunities with angel and early-stage venture capital investors, entrepreneurs and value-added service providers, as well as the opportunity to provide a 30 second company pitch to all attendees.
The presenting companies are as follows:
Universal Clean Air Technologies, Inc. (UTCI), Rod Hosilyk, CEO, which has developed the world’s only technology that can simultaneously and significantly reduce the four major pollutants in diesel exhaust emissions, i.e., NOx-40%, CO-95%, particulate matter (Soot)-75%, and volatile organic compounds (VOC-hydrocarbons)-90%. The development is 80% complete and working units can be demonstrated showing these spectacular results.
FastCall411, Richard Rosen, CEO, which builds community at the point of the first contact with a local merchant- which is almost always by phone – and uses the connection of a phone call to drive a local search relevance algorithm with little or no change in consumer behavior. The company’s local search results are more accurate and the phone connections between consumers and local merchants are faster and more efficient than current local directories.
TCVN panelists include:
Bill Collins, managing director, Starboard Venture Partners -- He became an angel investor in 2000 and is a prolific deal lead with a successful portfolio. He serves in multiple BOD and advisory roles. He is a certified corporate director and a guest lecturer at Cal Tech, USC, UCLA and LARTA.
