Little River, SC, September 03, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The Gullah Geechee Heritage Film Festival will hold its second annual Live Screening Event - October 20th – 21st, 2017. This year’s festival features 15L Productions and Gabby Girl Media’s "A Rhythm in Blue," based on the novel by Crystal Senter-Brown, and Fashion Designer Stevie Boi’s Directorial Debut "Cäbin: The Story." The festival also highlights an eclectic selection of national and international short films.
About The Gullah Geechee Heritage Film Festival:
In 2006 the U.S. Congress designated the Gullah Geechee Corridor, which runs from Wilmington, NC to Jacksonville, Fl. This corridor is considered “home to one of America’s most unique cultures.” The film festival spotlights diverse visual storytelling of The African Diaspora as a whole, the African American Community in general, and Gullah Geechee culture specifically.
It is the mission of the Gullah Geechee Heritage Film Festival to encourage filmmakers to explore and tell visual stories based on the rich history of Gullah Geechee culture. With a spirit of National and International inclusion, the Gullah Geechee Heritage Film Festival also strives to spotlight talented filmmakers and story tellers from around the world. This film festival is as much about pride for people of Gullah Geechee descent as it is about our place in the global community.
