New Age Artist Albedo Nominated for Utah Music Awards 2 Years in a Row
New age artist Albedo has recently received 2 song nominations by the Utah Music Awards. 4 songs were nominated last year.
Salt Lake City, UT, September 07, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Two songs by the New Age Music Artist Albedo have just been nominated for Best Instrumental Song by the 4th annual Utah Music Awards. The song "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" from the album "The Nutcracker" and “Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity” from the album "The Planets." Both are cover songs done in a New Age style. Only four songs were nominated in that category.
Last year, four songs were nominated for awards in two categories. The song "Mercury, the Winged Messenger" from the album "The Planets" was nominated for Best Instrumental Cover. The songs "Cassini," "Near Shoemaker and Hayabusa," and "Messenger," all three from the album"Space Probes," were all nominated for Best New Age Song. Only five songs were nominated in each category.
This year, the awards ceremony will be held in Orem, Utah on September 22nd at Audio West. Tickets for the event are now on sale and can be purchased online via the Utah Music Awards website.
The Utah Music Awards is now accepting votes. You can vote for your favorite songs in each category. The public vote will end on Saturday, September 9th.
The album “The Nutcracker” is Albedo's 12th studio album. It is A New Age arrangement of the classical work "The Nutcracker," Op. 71, composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It contains acoustic instruments mixed with synthetics and orchestral samples. The woodwind solos are played by Doug Clyde.
The album “The Planets” is Albedo's 11th studio album. It is a new age arrangement of the classical work “The Planets,” Op. 32, composed by Gustav Holst. It also contains acoustic instruments mixed with synthetics and orchestral samples. The Violin solos on the album are played by Kelly Richardson and the woodwind solos are played by Doug Clyde.
The album “Space Probes” is Albedo's 10th studio album, which is completely dedicated to robotic spacecraft. It contains musical interpretations of select space probes of achievement. Unmanned robotic spacecraft that explored astronomical objects in our solar system other than earth, and were the first successful flyby, orbiter, lander, rover or sample return missions. The music is a mixture of live instruments, synthetics, plus professional orchestra and choir samples.
The musical style of all three albums is considered New Age music. The sound is similar to the musical artists Mannheim Steamroller, Vangelis and Isao Tomita.
