Kay Lamb Shannon Recognized as a Woman of Excellence by Strathmore's Who's Who Worldwide Publication
Waco, TX, September 14, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Kay Lamb Shannon of Waco, Texas has been recognized as a Woman of Excellence by Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide for her outstanding contributions and achievements for over 50 years in the field of fine art.
About Kay Lamb Shannon
Kay Lamb Shannon is the self-employed Owner of Strokes of Perfection. She sells paintings of wildlife and nostalgia art. She chooses to paint in oils. Miss Kay paints for two jigsaw puzzle catalogues, “Bits and Pieces” and “SunsOut”, which stock a selection of puzzles featuring her artwork. She also painted for Scafa-Tornabene Art Publishing Company of Nyack, New York. Her paintings have been transferred into cross-stitch patterns by Dimension Cross Stitch and Heaven and Earth, a Cross Stitch design company. Her painting was selected by The McStevens Company to be featured on the front of their hot chocolate tins sold in stores. Another painting was chosen for the cover of Professor of History, Archie P. McDonald’s book. Miss Kay is especially proud that her art will be showcased on a new television series called “Mindhunters” shown on Netflix.
Born in Stephenville, Texas, Miss Kay obtained a B.S. in Art from Sam Houston State University in 1962. Previously, she taught art in Lake Air Junior High School in Waco, Texas. After having her children, she began painting full time and participating in art shows. She was approached by Home Interiors to paint for them and did so for many years. Miss Kay has been featured in articles in Waco Today in the Waco Tribune-Herald in March 2015. She is affiliated with the N.A.P.W.
Miss Kay has three children, Lisa, Todd and Stepson, John, four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys walking, reading, church activities and movies.
