About Black Silk – Founded by Desreta Jackson. The conception of Black Silk began with an extensive search which spanned over two decades for a hair care product that would keep the CEO’s very own daughter hair healthy and long, she could not find any products that would not only grow her daughter’s hair, but allow for the length to be maintained without breaking or becoming damaged. After 12 years of researching and perfecting with she calls the “Mahoginized Technique” which includes shampoos, conditioners, oils and treatments was created. After using the products on clients, friends and family, the homemade products rapidly became high in demand propelling the birth of Black Silk Healthy Hair Care line making Desreta the founder of the first African American luxury hair care line. Desreta has been named the Madam CJ Walker of the Millennium by Innovative Technology & Breakthroughs amongst many other prestigious awards.
In addition to Black Silk, Desreta is also a producer/director.
