JC Car Care & Tire 2017 BBB Torch Award Recipient
St Charles, MO, September 16, 2017 --(PR.com)-- JC Car Care & Tire are one of 5 businesses to receive the 2017 Torch Award.
Torch Award GraphicBetter Business Bureau (BBB) Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois will present Torch Awards to five businesses and one charity and Student of Ethics awards to two students during a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Statler hotel at the Marriott St. Louis Grand.
BBB St. Louis was founded on May 22, 1917 by the Advertising Club of Greater St. Louis and a group of 40 business leaders during a meeting at the historic Statler Hotel for the purpose of establishing Truth in Advertising Standards. The new St. Louis organization hit the ground running in its pursuit of truth and honesty in advertising practices of local businesses and trade groups. In those early years, BBB launched investigations into snake-oil salesmen, counterfeit mink furs, suit lotteries, countless bait-and-switch schemes and companies that sold overpriced stock. Over the decades, St. Louis BBB has continued aiding consumers and combating marketplace dishonesty.
“This year BBB’s TORCH Awards will celebrate 100 years of exceptional companies and charities with great customer service and ethics,” said Michael Rottler, BBB board chair and president of Rottler Pest & Lawn Solutions. “Start with Trust, honor the exceptional and learn from the best is our practice within St. Louis BBB. These companies, charities and students are examples to emulate for anyone who wants to be trusted in the marketplace.”
Jennifer Blome, KTRS radio host and former KSDK TV anchor, and Art Holliday, KSDK News Anchor and Reporter, will emcee the event.
Five companies and one nonprofit will be recognized for their commitments to exceptional business ethics and customer satisfaction:
AccuCare, St. Louis, Mo.
JC Car Care & Tire, St. Charles, Mo.
Roeser Home Remodeling, St. Louis, Mo.
The SOHO Shop, St. Charles, Mo.
Veterans Home Care, LLC, St. Louis, Mo.
Make-A-Wish-Foundation of Missouri, St. Louis, Mo.
Businesses are evaluated for their commitment to customer service through exceptional standards for ethical business practices. The awards committee, made up of previous winners, looks at how the company benefits customers, employees and the larger community. They also must meet BBB ethical, advertising and selling standards.
Companies and charities may nominate themselves, or they may be nominated by customers or other businesses.
BBB presents winners with a crystal trophy that they can display. They may promote their status in advertising, marketing and on their websites.
Two high school students will receive Student of Ethics awards of $2,500 each to be applied toward college or trade school expenses. They were selected from 72 students who submitted essays, transcripts and recommendations. The winners are:
Kaden Helsel, South Callaway High School, Mount Olive, Il.
