K12 Insight Welcomes Gregg Levin as President and COO
Veteran ed-tech executive joins K12 Insight to help revolutionize the customer experience in schools.
Herndon, VA, September 19, 2017 --(PR.com)-- K12 Insight today announced the appointment of longtime education technology industry leader Gregg Levin as president and chief operating officer. As president and COO, Levin will be primarily responsible for scaling K12 Insight’s growing customer service and community engagement platform for schools.
“For more than twenty years, Gregg has dedicated himself, both personally and professionally, to the great promise of K12 education in this country,” said Suhail Farooqui, K12 Insight’s founder and CEO. “We are thrilled to welcome a leader of his experience, passion, and caliber, both in working with schools and in scaling promising businesses, as we move to extend the benefits of our culture-changing K12 customer experience platform to school districts large and small.”
Before joining K12 Insight, Levin served as general manager of Fuel Education, a division of K12 Inc. There he led a period of rapid and extended growth, reaching more than 2,000 district and school partners and scaling from $5 million to $120 million in annual revenue.
Levin became excited about working with K12 Insight after he noticed a gap in the K12 landscape.
“America’s public schools face some very big and very unique challenges, especially when it comes to declining enrollment and increasing school choice,” he said. “When I saw the K12 Insight platform, it was immediately apparent that this was part of a solution that would help schools not only survive but thrive in the face of a more competitive, more customer-focused future.”
While acknowledging that teaching and learning are paramount to school success, Levin said, today, the overall school experience extends beyond what is taught in the classroom.
“The time has come to reevaluate how districts build their ‘brand.’ K12 Insight's customer experience platform enables education leaders at every level to engage their communities in secure two-way conversations about critical issues, from student voice to employee engagement to student safety and well-being. I'm extremely excited to join this fast-growing company. I have already seen firsthand the positive impact its solutions can have on keeping families enrolled and engaged, improving family support, and providing a safe space for students to seek help when they need it.”
A 20-year veteran of educational technology, Levin has also held executive and leadership positions at such prominent organizations as ChildrenFirst, Inc. (acquired by Bright Horizons), Sylvan, and Knowledge Learning Corporation, where he specialized in creating strategies to hone the mission, grow the client base, and scale the business.
Levin earned a bachelor’s from the University of Rochester and a master’s in business administration from the University of Maryland at College Park. He serves on the board of Illustrative Mathematics and Asteria Learning (October 2017) and formerly served on the board of Middlebury Interactive Languages.
