Every MUTTS Purchase Will Help Animals in Need
MUTTS.com to donate five percent of online sales (and ten percent during the month of September) to The Humane Society of the United States' Animal Rescue Team.
Princeton, NJ, September 22, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The MUTTS comic strip, created in 1994 by Patrick McDonnell, has always revolved around McDonnell's love for animals. The strip regularly includes messages of animal advocacy and praise for shelter staff, volunteers, and rescue workers. It has inspired real-life adoptions and support for animals of all species and backgrounds.
In August 2017, McDonnell announced that five percent of every sale from the online MUTTS Shop will be donated directly to The Humane Society of the United States' Animal Rescue Team. The HSUS' Animal Rescue Team works with law enforcement to investigate illegal animal cruelty. Every year it rescues thousands of animals from puppy mills, animal fighting operations, natural disasters, and other situations where animals suffer from life-threatening cruelty and neglect.
Recently, the team deployed to Texas and Florida to help animals affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. To show support during such a critical time, McDonnell announced that MUTTS would donate ten percent of all sales during the month of September.
"The MUTTS community knows how tough animals have it on this planet, and it is only through the efforts of the kindest people in the world that animals are able to survive and thrive," said McDonnell, who is a member of the board of directors of The HSUS. "The HSUS takes on the big challenges to make lives better for all animals. From helping dogs and cats, to saving chimps in Liberia, to working to end factory farming, to rescuing dogs slated for the meat trade, to changing laws - I could go on and on. They’re always there to stand up for animals. And they continue to make the world a better place."
Melissa Seide Rubin, Senior Vice President of Animal Rescue, Care and Sanctuary for The HSUS said: “We are very thankful for this generous donation and the support of Patrick and his MUTTS community. These contributions will go directly to our rescue team and will help them save more animals in harm’s way and who are being treated cruelly.”
