Talamas Becomes Confirmed Dealer for HEDÉN Products on August 28th, 2017
Newton, MA, September 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- With the confirmation of dealership with Sweden’s HEDÉN Talamas has engaged in a partnership that will provide greater integration of the film technologies it offers customers, as well as a welcome point of service for HEDÉN’s gear.
Since July 2017, Dave Talamas, founder and president of one of New England’s largest rental/sales houses of technology for film, TV and broadcast, and HEDÉN Sales Manager, Jonas Andersson, have been discussing a partnership. “One of the reasons they contacted us is that we’re also a MōVI dealership,” Talamas explains, “and they wanted to provide better customer service for their clients by having US dealers who can provide products and service domestically.”
Founded by Björn Hedén in 1964 and based in Gothenburg, Sweden, HEDÉN specializes in lens motors and control systems for focus, iris and zoom control. Since then their pioneering products have become a standard in the film industry. In 2016, Seafire AB took over the company and is intent on expanding its reach and ability to provide solutions and service to the film industry worldwide. The partnership with Talamas is an example of that focus.
Over time, HEDÉN has provided products that kept pace with the increased use of steadicams, skycams, helicoptercams and cranes and, in 1990 provided specially built motors for a joint NASA and ESA mission. More recently HEDÉN introduced the Carat, the world’s first Bluetooth Focus/Iris control unit, the ultimate in lens control systems.
HEDÉN has also just released the zoom-servo for Fujino and MK-series on Sony FS5/FS7/FS7II, which will be launched at IBC 2017.
The HEDÉN Carat is an enormously popular product in Talamas’ rental inventory and becoming a confirmed dealership expands the Boston-based provider’s ability to provide the ground breaking technology to their clients regionally. “It’s a top of the line, premier product that enhances our company’s capacity to provide reliable, quality built and versatile solutions to our clients,” Talamas says. “We are incredibly proud to offer such a prestigious line to serve New England’s Digital Cinema Market.”
This partnership deepens Talamas’ ability to offer closely integrated solutions to clients, particularly given that Talamas are already dealers for companies such as RED, Panasonic, Zeiss and MōVI. “We previously rented the HEDÉN Carat lens control systems, but now we’ll be selling them. It’s incredibly important it is to be able to control focus and the Iris remotely particularly given that camera equipped drones are becoming a larger force in the industry, but they’re also highly relevant for crane work or even when an individual is carrying the camera.”
“Now, as one of their dealers we’re going to provide spares, repairs and overall service,” Talamas says. “HEDÉN are one of those great companies that are very responsive to the needs of users and want to better respond to those needs through partnerships such as this.”
