The Schultz Family Foundation Doubles Down on Support for CASY with Grant to Support Employment Training & Job Placement Program for the US Army Reserves & National Guard
Lake St. Louis, MO, October 03, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Building on their support of Corporate America Supports You (CASY) veteran hiring programs in December 2016, the Schultz Family Foundation has recently awarded CASY a second grant from its donor advised fund at Silicon Valley Community Foundation. The award supports employment training and job placement programs for the US Army Reserves and the Army National Guard.
CASY Founder and CEO, Rear Admiral Dan Kloeppel, USN (retired), was excited at the news that CASY would receive a second grant from The Schultz Family Foundation. He stated, “It is a tribute to the CASY team that we have been able to successfully achieve the objectives of our veteran employment grant with The Schultz Family Foundation by placing 1,010 military within just six months. This fulfilled our initial grant objectives six months ahead of schedule. We are very proud of this partnership and excited for the opportunity to expand our National Guard and Reserve Programs.”
The Schultz Family Foundation, co-founded by Sheri Schultz and her husband Howard Schultz, executive chairman of Starbucks, is focused on supporting efforts that tap into the potential of vital populations such as opportunity youth and post-9/11 veterans. This investment is part of the Schultz family’s commitment to ensure successful transitions for all of our military as they return to civilian life. “We’re happy to be working with CASY on this effort to ensure that the skills and values of the members of the National Guard and Reserves are recognized by potential employers,” said Daniel Pitasky, executive director at the Schultz Family Foundation. “The leadership abilities these men and women gain through their service are needed by companies and communities across the country.”
In 2017, CASY will be working with the National Guard Bureau to expand their existing technology platform through the CASY BrassRing. This will accommodate the addition of new employment counselors for the National Guard Citizen Soldier for Life (CSFL) and Army Reserve P3 programs throughout the United States. The grant will also enable CASY to develop more engaging and outcome-driven training programs including new technology such as a customized applicant tracking system. This will result in increased employment opportunities with higher pay and growth potential as well as a decrease in the amount of underemployment for National Guard Soldiers and Army Reservists.
CASY and The Schultz Family Foundation have set out to place 2,000 Veterans, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve Soldiers into careers. Interested Veterans, Army National Guard members, Army Reservists, and transitioning soldiers can sign up for CASY’s free services at http://casy.us/.
