Dallas Start-Up Aims to Tackle Major Maternal-Infant Health Crisis

Dallas, TX, October 19, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Pregnant women who live in southern Dallas county no longer have to travel for 45+ minutes to access holistic pregnancy support like prenatal yoga and natural childbirth preparation. RootMama is launching its Wellness Studio in Duncanville, TX to serve expectant families and parents of infants.

RootMama Wellness Studio’s grand opening is Saturday, October 21 from 4 pm to 6:30 pm located at 119 W. Wheatland Road, Duncanville, TX 75116.

“Between 2010 and 2014 the rate of Texas women dying of pregnancy-related causes nearly doubled. The infant mortality rate in Dallas County increased in 2014 to 7.43 from 5.8. The areas with the most babies dying were South Dallas, Cedar Hill and Grand Prairie.” -According to the Dallas County Community Health Needs Assessment

The RootMama Wellness Studio is a viable solution in the heart of a community that needs it most. RootMama successfully coaches women to have a healthy pregnancy, overcome barriers to finding adequate prenatal care, and fill in the “gaps” between obstetric visits to promote continual healthy lifestyle choices. To date over 90% of RootMama assisted pregnancies go to full-term and over 95% initiate breastfeeding.
