Singapore Singing Champ to fly to Helsinki, Finland for the World’s Biggest Amateur Singing Competition
30-year old mother of 2 to represent Singapore in the world finals in November for Karaoke World Championships.
Singapore, Singapore, October 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- KWC Singapore held the 2017 National Finals last 15 October at the Hard Rock Café where 30-year old Jessie Yeong won as the year’s champion.
Karaoke World Championships (KWC) is an international singing competition with over 30 country champions competing in the world finals in November hosted by Finland, in conjunction with their 100th year anniversary of independence. KWC is the world’s biggest amateur singing competition and most prestigious karaoke singing event. The Finnish capital Helsinki will host a full week of events including a Festival with various karaoke and singing related activities, shows and after parties.
National trials are conducted in each country with the winners competing in the International finals. Auditions in Singapore were held in key locations including Clarke Quay, LaSalle College of the Arts and Singapore Polytechnic. Some of the partners that have supported the competition include leading German audiotech company beyerdynamic, the official microphone of KWC Singapore; karaoke kiosk Mbar and the Embassy of Finland in Singapore. Some of the VIP guests in attendance during the national finals are Ms Paula Parviainen, Ambassador of Finland to Singapore; 2015 World Champion of KWC, Singaporean Fairus Adam; 2015 Female KWC Singapore Champion, Ms Nadya Dean; and Consul Mersole Mellejar of the Embassy of the Philippines.

In November 2016, the World Final event was held in Vancouver, Canada where Ryota Kaizo of Japan and Astrid Nicole of Panama won the Karaoke World Champion titles for female and male, respectively. They will be invited to perform as guests in the world finals in Helsinki, Finland.
