US Army Europe to Give Overview of ASCA and Its Role in Enabling Digital Fires at SMi Event
USAREUR to present exclusive session at SMi’s Network Centric Warfare conference which will take place on 1-2 February 2018 in Rome, Italy.
London, United Kingdom, October 25, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Earlier this year, the US Army Europe conducted "Exercise Dynamic Front" involving nine NATO nations with aims of coordinating mass artillery files to test interoperability to further the alliance's readiness for inherent threats. A big goal of the exercise was to promote Artillery Systems Cooperation Activities (ASCA), a software-based program used to digitally communicate real-time, linking field artillery and command and control systems.
In line with this, SMi has announced that Colonel Thomas Williams, USAREUR G3 Fires, US Army Europe, will be presenting an overview of the ASCA Program and its role in enabling digital fires at the Network Centric Warfare 2018 conference in Rome. In his session, Colonel Williams will discuss:
How ASCA enables different nations to conduct fire support missions.
Improving multi-force coalition operations through further development of pan-NATO networked force
Optimising artillery accuracy, survivability and responsiveness through use of networked software intensive fire control systems
Going forward: integrating more partners into ASCA to establish more effective digital fire support by removing radio relays and language barriers to create common points of reference
Other presentations focused on network enabled capabilities within US Army Europe include:
Future Combat Systems Program: Creating Network Centric Concepts for Multi-Mission Combat Systems
Colonel Carl J Washington, Commander 2nd Signal Command
Developing More Agile and Versatile Forces Through Enhanced Training Programs
Lieutenant Colonel John Reeder, Commander 1st Battalion Airborne 503rd Infantry
They join a line-up of experts shaping up this vital area of defence. Other featured speakers include representatives from the Italian Air Force, Italian Army, DISA Europe, DSTL, US Army Europe, NATO Shape, NATO Defence College Foundation and more. Visit the event website to view the full list of speakers and presentations.
Network Centric Warfare 2018 will provide a platform to address challenges and issues surrounding the demand for modernisation and digitisation of information, the growing need for interoperability within communication systems, and procurement for technological advancements of military assets.
The full agenda as well as registration information can be found on www.netcentric-warfare.com/prcom.
There is currently a £400 Early Bird offer available for bookings done by 31st October.
