La Residence Hue Hailed as 8th Best Hotel in Asia
Property lands the highest finish ever in Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards.
Hue City, Vietnam, October 26, 2017 --(PR.com)-- La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa (http://www.la-residence-hue.com/) climbed into the upper echelon of the world's most prestigious hotel awards list, claiming the No. 8 spot on Condé Nast Traveler's list of Asia's top hotels.
In its Readers' Choice Awards, Condé Nast Traveler lauded the hotel for its "dreamy" rooms, its "charming" art deco roots and its picture-perfect location. La Residence was one of just four hotels in Vietnam on the august list.
This year's achievement represents a significant boost in prestige for the 122-room hotel that opened in 2005. Last year, La Residence rated a No. 15 spot on Condé Nast Traveler's list of top hotels in Southern Asia. In 2015, the hotel was No. 13 on the Condé Nast list.
"I'm humbled by the recognition," said the hotel's general manager Phan Trong Minh. "But I'm not surprised. Everyone at La Residence works so hard toward ensuring guests have the most memorable experience possible. That kind of diligent commitment to service, coupled with our inimitable setting and the architectural experience of this property, means that a lot of good memories are going home with our guests."
Announced in New York on Oct. 17, Condé Nast Traveler's 30th annual compendium is the result of a voting process that began April 1 and ended July 1, with participation by more than 300,000 readers.
The awards' voters considered more than 7,320 hotels and resorts around the world, casting ballots from desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Two years ago, just 128,000 readers participated in the awards process, up from 77,000 the year before.
In 2016, Condé Nast Traveler took charge of the voting process from an outside agency. Consequently, the median age of the voters dropped from the late 60s in 2015 to the mid 40s last year to the late 30s this year.
About La Residence Hotel & Spa
Set on a two-hectare site with 200 meters of frontage on the fabled Perfume River, La Residence celebrated its grand opening in December 2005 after a painstaking restoration of the 1930-built mansion. The hotel's distinctive bowed façade, its long horizontal lines, and nautical flourishes are hallmarks of the streamline moderne school of art deco architecture.
The hotel's 122 rooms and suites, restaurants, lounges, bars and conference room are tricked out in complementary art-deco furnishings and décor that evoke both the 1920s and 1950s. The hotel's fine-dining venue, Le Parfum, serves Mediterranean and French cuisine, as well as dishes from an expansive Vietnamese menu.
