Naples, FL, October 27, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The first Exhibitor Briefing Day for the 19th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG2019) was held at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre (SWEECC) in China on 19 October 2017. Participants included representatives from the International Gas Union (IGU), Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai Municipal Housing Construction Committee, US Consulate General and many others.
Attendees were provided with an overview of what to expect at the conference and exhibition which takes place 1-5 April 2019 in Shanghai. The triennial event is presented by the International Gas Union (IGU), Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR). It will be the world’s largest LNG event ever held with 11,000 attendees expected from 550 organisations worldwide.
Last week’s event also included a Press Conference, where members of the media were invited to ask questions to the speakers and the organisers – CWC Group from London, ETF from Australia and ITPC from Shanghai. Attendees included media representatives from publications including Xinhua News Agency, Upstream and ICIS Anderson.
The Press Conference was hosted by Professor Lin Wensheng, a member of the National Organising Committee and the Programme Committee of LNG2019. The Deputy General Manager of Shenergy Group Co. Ltd, Mr. Wang Zhehong gave the opening remarks. Rodney Cox, Event Director for the International Gas Union, also highlighted the 49 years of LNG event series history and the significant meaning of this event being held in China for the first time. In addition, the Chairman of the National Organising Committee Professor Gu Anzhong, explained how "belt and road policy" related to LNG development in China. Following the Press Conference, the Chinese and international exhibitors were taken on a walk-through of the LNG2019 exhibition hall at the SWEECC.
The day proved to be very informative and anticipation and excitement is clearly building for LNG2019.
The natural gas industry strives to play an important role in the rising global demand for reliable and cleaner sources of energy and LNG2019 aims to highlight and discuss how the LNG industry can adapt to the changing landscape and play a major role in creating a sustainable energy future. The triennial event is proudly supported by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and hosted by the China LNG Association, China Gas Society, The Chinese Association of Refrigeration and the China Gas Association.
The Call for Abstracts is currently open and the abstracts received will be reviewed by the Programme Committee with selected papers being incorporated into the programme along with invited senior level speakers. The deadline for submission is 24 April 2018.
In addition to the conference, the 30,000m2 LNG2019 exhibition will host more than 300 international exhibitors from 80 countries covering the entire spectrum of the LNG industry, including specialist pavilions such as the Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) Pavilion and the Marine Technology Pavilion.

The Vice-Premier of the State Council, Zhang Gaoli, attached great importance to the new development patterns of energy during the 2016 G20 Energy Ministerial Meeting in Beijing. Zhang said low-carbon energy, natural gas and non-fossil resource as the future major energy resource will be exploited and utilized through intelligent means, such as energy nets to promote the new energy industry. He stressed China will promote structural adjustment in the energy field, encouraging green and renewable energy use, building a low-carbon society and innovating energy development methods to improve the modern energy market. LNG2019 presents a great opportunity for leading comprehensive global cooperation in energy development, through strengthening communication, sharing innovation and results, and deepening cooperation between countries.
