The 13th Annual Chinese American Film Festival & Chinese American TV Festival was Successfully Held in Hollywood
The Chinese American Film Festival (CAFF) and Chinese American TV Festival (CATF) is organized by EDI Media and supported by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the U.S. and it brings in celebrities, associations and studio leaders and executives from both the United States and China. Their Golden Angel Award Ceremonies were successfully held on October 30th and November 1st.
Los Angeles, CA, November 08, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The inaugural CATF Golden Angel Awards was held at Paramount Theater on October 30th where various television intellectual properties were recognized for innovations that were made within the television industry including: best TV drama, director, leading actor/actress, and many more.
CATF also honored the, “Most Popular U.S. TV Actor in China,” “Most Popular U.S. TV Actress in China” and “Most Popular U.S. Director in China” during this ceremony. The recipients for this award were: Michael Rooker of The Walking Dead and Guardians of the Galaxy, Khandi Alexander of CSI: Miami and Scandal and Bobby Roth the director on Prison Break, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Revenge and Hawaii Five-0.
On November 1, guests gathered together at the Ricardo Montalban Theater to celebrate the 13th Annual Chinese American Film Festival, which awarded and celebrated the actors, actresses, directors, and producers and studios that have made great strides within the industry. The Chinese American Film Festival celebrated a list of films submitted from around the world and awarded the very best with the, “Golden Angel Award.”
Some of the celebrity guests in attendance included: Michael Rooker, Godfrey Gao, Clara Lee, Jerrika Hinton, Francesca Eastwood, Sam Jaeger, Erika Christensen, Khandi Alexander, Thora Birch, Tony Plana and Ming-Na Wen. All while having industry leaders such as: Jay Roewe HBO’s SVP ,Stratton Leopold producer on Mission Impossible III, Gillian Zhao Warner Bros. Executive V.P., Jack Ledwith SVP International Distribution at Universal Pictures, Martin Campbell Director on “The Foreigner” and Arthur Sarkissian the Producer of “Rush Hour” and “The Foreigner.” Performances throughout the night included songs from Peter Rafaelson, Omar Akram and Josie Aiello as well as Boyz II Men singer Mark Nelson.
Chadwick Boseman was honored with the highest award of the night with, “Most Popular U.S. Actor in China.” He is known for his roles as Jackie Robinson in 42, Thurgood Marshall in Marshall and T'Challa or The Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War and will have his own “Black Panther” spin-off movie released in 2018. Other award recipients included Arthur Sarkissian producer of the Rush Hour series for his work on, “The Foreigner” as well as Martin Campbell director of The Foreigner. Actor Tony Plana accepted the award on behalf of Swimming in the Desert for his leading role in the short film.
