Retired MLB Player Co-Designs T-Shirt Being Sold to Benefit Phoenix Domestic Abuse Prevention Organization
Former professional baseball player Mark Teahen partners with Athletes Brand on T-shirt in support of wife and to raise awareness, critical funds for Phoenix domestic abuse agency Chyrsalis.
Scottsdale, AZ, November 08, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Former professional baseball player Mark Teahen has partnered with Athletes Brand on a limited-edition T-shirt being sold to raise money and awareness for Phoenix-based Chrysalis, a community leader in domestic abuse prevention.
Last week, Mark and his wife Lauren hosted their 7th annual celebrity golf tournament and gala to continue their work in raising awareness and funds for domestic abuse victims. It was attended by the likes of Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo, pitcher Zack Greinke, and a host of other community sports figures.
The Teahens' efforts are in honor of Shelley, Lauren’s late mother, a domestic abuse survivor. Lauren and Mark have made it a priority to advocate on behalf of those who are personally impacted by domestic abuse to make them aware of the community’s local resources for healing and support, and to educate to help avoid other finding themselves in such similar and unfortunate circumstances.
“Lauren and her mom dealt with an unfortunate domestic abuse situation when Lauren was young, and afterwards they were always looking for an organization like Chrysalis,” said Teahen. “Once we found Chrysalis, we wanted to use our platform to raise funds and help as many victims as possible.”
Proceeds from shirt sales will benefit Chrysalis Shelter for Domestic Abuse, where more than 1,300 individuals are helped annually. Men, women, and youth are taught how to identify unhealthy relationships in their lives and seek proper help and assistance. Provided services help initiate positive changes in peoples’ lives and break away from verbal, physical, emotional, financial and sexual abuse.
