Indian Association of Retired Persons (IARP) was formed in this city of Kolkata in December 1997, with the sole objective of uniting those whose voice was being lost in the "more important" din and bustle of the society. (The idea was first mooted by our founder President Dr. Sisir Kumar Dutta, on the basis of his experience during his long stay abroad. On his return home, he lost no time to get in touch with his like-minded friends, explained to them the idea behind and convinced them. And the result was the birth of IARP! The memorable day was 20th December 1997. Since then we have been holding our office with the sole objective to serve the society in our humble capacity.
From 1997, IARP has come a long way and the journey is still on. Meanwhile, it has spread its wings different directions like Medical, Social Cultural, Legal fields etc. all through its main office, a number of chapters in this city and resident member representatives in many cities of India.
